STEP INTO SMARTER LIGHT
Ready, set,
connected.
Pair your ESP32 over Bluetooth, send home Wi-Fi settings securely, then control your light directly from the board on your local network.
Discover the ESP32
Keep your Mac or Android phone on home Wi-Fi
Power the ESP32 in Bluetooth setup mode. Chrome or Edge will ask permission to connect to a nearby device.
Select your ESP32 to begin
Authorize pairing
Encrypted connection using your device code
Your PIN and Wi-Fi password stay inside this browser and the ESP32. They are not submitted to Cloudflare.
Connect home Wi-Fi
Use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
Start with Bluetooth discovery above.
Open your local light controller
ESP32 serves the app itself — no cloud required
The ESP32 will restart into its Matter + local-dashboard mode after successful provisioning. Once online, open its local address from a phone or computer on the same home network.
Open esp32-led.local ↗If the hostname doesn't resolve, open the IP shown in the ESP32 Serial Monitor (for example http://192.168.1.123/). Local dashboard traffic is HTTP on your trusted LAN, not routed through Cloudflare.
Next: add it to your smart home (Matter)
After the board joins home Wi-Fi and reboots, it also advertises a Matter On/Off Light. Pair that separately in Google Home, Apple Home, or compatible Smart Life Matter flows using the Matter QR code/manual setup code printed in Serial Monitor. The 8-digit PoP used above is not the Matter setup code.
The local LED page works without Matter pairing. Apple Home initial setup requires an iPhone/iPad; Mac-only control is possible only after setup.
Already paired, or using iPhone?
The Bluetooth pairing page works on supported Chrome/Edge desktops and Android. iPhone Safari does not support Web Bluetooth. Use the ESP BLE Provisioning app for the first Wi-Fi setup. The Matter build does not include the old hotspot fallback. In normal mode, hold BOOT for 10+ seconds and release for a lab factory reset; the board restarts in BLE setup mode.
